Milton Balbuena
Milton Balbuena is a Senior Relationship Manager for Wanger OmniWealth in the San Francisco office. Milton is responsible for developing and managing clients and has over 20 years of experience working with high net worth clients.
Prior to joining Wanger OmniWealth, Milton was the Chief Investment Strategist and Head of the Multi Family Office for Contango Capital Advisors - ZionsBank wealth management business. While at Contango, Milton was a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Investment Committee and helped grow the firm from $400 Million to $3.5 Billion of AUM.
Before joining Contango in 2004, Milton was a Vice President of Manager Research and Asset Allocation for Prime Capital, a Multi Family Office with offices in New York, Brazil and Switzerland. Previous to Prime Capital, Milton helped start Finaplex Inc. a wealth management enterprise software company. Clients included Lehman Brothers and First Republic Bank.
Milton received his MBA from the Haas School at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a B. Sc. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Milton has authored numerous investment research studies and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek.
Milton is a member of the Leadership Board of the American Diabetes Association for the Bay Area. Milton and his wife live in Marin County with their two daughters.
